Silvestro Micera Receives 2021 IEEE EMBS Technical Achievement Award

Professor Silvestro Micera, Head of the Translational Neural Engineering Lab (TNE) at the Center for Neuroprosthetics and Institute of Bioengineering (School of Engineering), has been awarded the 2021 Technical Achievement Award of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS).

Silvestro Micera will receive a $1,500 USD honorarium for “his contribution to the development of new implantable neuroprostheses to restore sensory and motor function in disabled people".

This award is given annually to individuals to “recognize outstanding achievements, contributions, and/or innovations in any area of bioengineering by an individual or group of individuals".
