smart living lunch - Tuesday, 6 February 2018, 11:00am

Catherine De Wolf and Joseph Desruelle presented their recent work at the monthly smart living lunch this Tuesday in Fribourg.

Catherine De Wolf, postdoctoral researcher at the Structural Xploration Lab, updated the smart living lab community on the recent developments of www.carbondeqo.com, the worldwide database of carbon performance of structures that she introduced during her PhD thesis at MIT.

Joseph Desruelle, master student in Civil Engineering (EPFL), presented his master thesis, done under the supervision of Prof. Corentin Fivet, Jan Brütting and Prof. Aurelio Muttoni. He detailed how the load-bearing elements of ready-to-be-dismantled electric pylons could be optimally reused to erect a large roof structure for train stations.
