Prof. Lyesse Laloui, director of the Soil Mechanics Laboratory (LMS), explains the principles of carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) in “Le Temps”.

In the ever-heating context of global warming, a technique referred to as Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) may hold the greatest potential in significantly reducing emissions for different industries. Prof. Laloui explains the basis of this technique in an article by “Le Temps” where he also presents practical estimates for its potential applications in Switzerland, in comparison with other countries around the world. He hopes that this promising technology can further benefit from all the stakeholders’ needed support, especially from the Confederation, the industry and society at large.
