A new website has been created presenting the key concepts and obligations to be aware of in order to comply with the new federal law on the protection of personal data which will come into force on 1 September 2023.
This website will help you to find the main information about personal data protection, such as definitions, key principles, rights, EPFL's obligation and training. It also contains many concrete examples adapted to EPFL and good practices to follow in order to apply these concepts in your daily work. You will also learn how to react in case of a data security breach.
The protection of personal data is becoming an increasingly important issue for our institution and its reputation. In view of the growing number of sophisticated attacks, which have also affected neighbouring institutions, we need to pay more attention to this matter and implement appropriate protective measures.
