Pavo Orepić, a PhD candidate from Blanke’s Lab, won the prize for best presentation during the first SV PhD retreat, organized by the ADSV, held in Ovronnaz from the 23rd – 25th of March 2018.

The first PhD retreat organised by the Life Sciences PhD Students Association (ADSV), focused on connecting 80 Life science PhD students through series of talks, poster presentations, discussions and fun activities. The main scientific focus was on the different methods and technologies used in their PhD studies in order to help establishing potential collaborations.

In his 3-minute talk entitled “Voices and robots”, Pavo explained how he combines robotically-induced sensorimotor conflicts with a novel voice-manipulation technology for auditory stimuli, to induce psychotic-like states in healthy people.

After hearing and debating presentations, the audience voted for the best presentation. Pavo won the voting and will have the pleasure of flying a plane with a certified instructor as a reward!

Congratulations!
