Open position for an AOCS engineer
The Space Center EPFL is currently looking for a “Space AOCS engineer” to be involved in the design of a new generation of pico- and micro-satellites.
The successful candidate will be involved in the design of a new generation of pico- and micro-satellites and his/her main tasks will be to lead design and development of the attitude and orbit control system (AOCS). Several future projects are being considered at the Space Center EPFL as possible future satellites. These satellites will need a challenging span of AOCS performances, from an agile (orbital rendezvous) to extremely precise (exo-planets observatory). A deep understanding of the simulation aspects, control aspects and hardware is preferred. The engineer will lead a team composed of students, academic and industry partners. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity of leading or co-leading technology developments in AOCS. Candidates with a good background in control theory, mechanical, electrical, and space system engineering are encouraged to apply. Good writing and communication skills are important and the ability to be a team player and interact with diverse groups is a must.
