Professor Luca Ortelli has been appointed the director of the Institute of Architecture in the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, ENAC.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Luca Ortelli has accepted this position, following in the footsteps Professor Bruno Marchand who has reached the end of his term.
We are fortunate to be able to count on Professor Luca Ortelli as a driving force for the future of Architecture at the EPFL. Highly involved in the ENAC school, Luca Ortelli is a fervent follower of the “Design & Build Together” strategy, which he applies at all levels of interaction. Appreciated by his students as a teacher, he is also well aware of the school's logistic and infrastructural demands, especially the need for more workstations for the institute.
At the same time we would like to warmly thank Professor Marchand for having accepted to extend his term well beyond its official duration, despite having to postpone a sabbatical leave that he will now finally be able to take. We'd like to express our gratitude for the work he has put into the institute and the school, for his presence, his participation, and his involvement that paved the way for the remarkable growth the institute has experienced in research, and for initiating the recruitment of two new professors in the Institute of Architecture, namely Professors Andersen and Rey.
