The EPFL Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (QSE Center) warmly welcomes the creation of the Swiss Quantum Initiative and Swiss Quantum Commission, hosted by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) and mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).

The Swiss Quantum Commission will lead this initiative, which aims to further strengthen Switzerland’s leading role in the field of quantum science and engineering. It will contribute to Switzerland’s ability to compete at the international level in the field of quantum and creates a good foundation for international collaborations.

The work on this initiative will begin in early 2023, and for 2023/24, the Initiative has been allocated a budget of CHF 10 million to funding research calls, nationally coordinate the development of knowledge and technology transfer platforms, develop curricula, and strengthen international partnerships.

The QSE Center will continue to work together with all Swiss Quantum Centers alongside this commission and initiative to support our researchers and students in Quantum.
