Dr Lorenzo Benedetti and Mitra Asadollahi have joined the Geo-Energy Lab - Gaznat chair on Geo-Energy, respectively on April 1st, and June 1st 2017.
Dr Lorenzo Benedetti and Mitra Asadollahi have joined the Geo-Energy Lab - Gaznat chair on Geo-Energy, respectively on April 1st, and June 1st 2017.
Lorenzo has received his PhD in computational mechanics from UPC (Barcelona, Spain) where he worked on mixed finite element formulation for the simulation of localization of deformation. He will work here on hydraulic fracture modeling.
Mitra received her Master from TU Delft (Netherlands) and Batchelor from Sharif University (Iran). She is starting a PhD on the design of hydraulic stimulation of geothermal reservoirs, with a particular focus on the modeling of the nucleation of dynamic slip on pre-exisiting fractures and young faults induced by fluid injection.
