Building but not resting on the program's success over the past years, we'd like to share with you some of the innovations we brought to this year's session in our ongoing efforts to evolve and renew the MTE program.
Professors Ben Bryant and Stuart Read of IMD joined the faculty team to share their expertise on leadership and innovation, in Module 1 and 2, respectively.
Professor Bryant's sessions explicitly addressed what technical experts stand to gain from training in leadership and organization methods. He explored the rational and irrational sides of human behavior with MTE participants through experiential exercises; self-diagnosis; and developing the capacity for candid direct peer conversations.
Meanwhile, Professor Read’s module Product Creation and Innovation Leadership added new sessions focused on the process of creating new technology products and leading innovative organizations.
As of next year, Prof. Alain Wegmann of the EPFL will join the MTE 2011 faculty team. His interests are in techniques to better align business and IT. He worked for 14 years with Logitech in software development/engineering management (Switzerland, Taiwan, US), manufacturing (Taiwan) and marketing (US). When he left Logitech, Alain was engineering vice-president and marketing director for large accounts.
