Composite material extracts the precious metal from electronic waste, sewage sludge, and sea water.

Professor Wendy L. Queen and Daniel T. Sun at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL Valais Wallis) discovered a material that can extract gold from solution, which could make mining gold from electronic waste, sewage sludge, and even sea water practical.
