Team OES finished in fifth place out of 285 teams who participated in the Food Challenge of the ACT FOR CHANGE Competition in November. For three weeks, over 1250 participants practiced a more sustainable lifestyle and generated numerous ideas for building a more sustainable EPFL campus.

Team OES was comprised of Ilona Ball, Anjali Nursimulu, Michael Mark, and Prof. Thomas Weber. The team members were participating in vegetarian food challenges, attended lectures and cooking classes, held regular team meals at various campus restaurants, engaged in recycling, posted ideas for sustainable food consumption and distribution on campus, and contributed actively in the online discussion forums. The competition among teams at the top was fierce with a close finish in the end (see table).
