Meixia Zhang , a fourth-year doctoral student from Mechanical Engineering in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China, joined HOBEL in April 2022 as a visiting doctoral student after receiving the scholarship from China Scholarship Council (CSC).

Meixia Zhang joined HOBEL in April 2022 as a visiting doctoral student after receiving the scholarship from China Scholarship Council (CSC). She is a fourth-year doctoral student from School of Mechanical Engineering in Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China and holds a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from BIT. Her research interests include indoor pollutant emission, human skin chemistry, heat and mass transfer.

Meixia has been working on the physical mass transfer and chemical reaction characteristics of VOCs from human skin and its impact on indoor air quality. Her work mainly focused on the reaction characteristics of ozone with squalene and the behavior of ozone/squalene reaction products in realistic indoor environments. As a visiting Ph.D. student in HOBEL, she expects to study the emission and transmission of human chemicals in indoor environments and their influence on occupants’ health.
