Marouane MERIZAK joined HOBEL as a doctoral assistant in October 2020. He holds a double Master’s degree in Air Quality Control, Solid Waste and Wastewater Process Engineering from the University of Stuttgart in Germany and the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil. During his double Master’s degree program, he focused on outdoor air quality control and industrial emissions. Before that, he studied Civil and Environmental Engineering at EMI (Ecole Mohammadia D’Ingénieurs) in Morocco.

After his graduation, Marouane worked as a scientific collaborator at the department of air quality control belonging to IFK (Institut für Feuerungs- und Kraftwerkstechnik). In his latest project, he organized a measurement campaign to assess coarse, fine and ultrafine particle levels in metro trains and underground stations in Stuttgart. He also participated in the project UC2 to investigate ambient air quality in Stuttgart through bicycle, tethered balloon and passive sampling measurements.

As a PhD candidate in HOBEL, Marouane will focus on human particle emissions and their contribution to personal inhalation exposures indoors.
