Mapping the human brain.

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging

From diffusion magnetic resonance imaging to brain connectomics.

The Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Technology, developed in the lab of Prof. Jean-Philippe Thiran (LTS5 - Signal Processing Laboratory 5) in the heart of the new Human Connectome Project, funded by the NIH. This project will map the brain of 1200 volunteers using several magnetic resonance imaging methods, including the diffusion spectrum imaging, which provides detailed images of the axon tracts that carry signals between brain regions.Dr Patric HAGMANN received in 2006 the Chorafas Foundation award for his thesis: From diffusion magnetic resonance imaging to brain connectomics.
