International Conference CISBAT 2011

Sustainable buildings and cities are the focus of the international Conference CISBAT 2011, to be held at EPFL from 14 to 16 September 2011.

The conference presents the latest scientific research in the domain, across disciplines ranging from nanotechnology for renewable energies to the urban integration of renewables.

Keynote speakers of the 2011 edition of this forward-looking conference include:
Olav Hohmeyer, Professor of Energy and Resource Management University of Flensburg, member of the German Council of Environmental Advisors
Rolf Häner, Managing director of the export platform CleanTech Switzerland
Mark Rea, Professor and Director of the Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Marc Angélil, Professor and Dean of the Department of Architecture at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich as well as partner of agps.architecture.

Researchers from five continents will present the results of their scientific research and development activities in fields such as nanotechnology for renewable energies, building envelopes, urban ecology and metabolism, renewable energy systems, green lighting, indoor environment quality and health and more. Furthermore, CISBAT has teamed up with IBPSA Switzerland to organise a special session on building and urban simulation.
