Innosuisse will soon launch a new Flagship Initiative to stimulate systemic innovation and transdisciplinary collaboration. This initiative seeks to find solutions to current or future challenges relevant to a large part of the economy or society. Innosuisse will launch the first call for flagships in January 2021.

The purpose of the flagship initiative is to stimulate innovation in areas relevant to a large part of the economy or society and to promote transdisciplinary project collaboration. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Swiss economy and/or contribute to the well-being of society by creating new value along the value chain by increasing efficiencies, reducing costs or re-solving social relevant challenges in the public interest.

The first call will be launched in January 2021 and the funding for a flagship will amount to at least 4 million.

Innosuisse will define specific but broad flagship topics. Consortia will be able to submit proposals to execute a flagship within these topics. A consortium will consist of more than two research partners, of which at least one will be university of applied sciences. Furthermore, at least two implementation partners should be involved. A flagship will have a minimum duration of three years.

All relevant information, including deadline details, will be published in the coming months on the dedicated Innosuisse webpage.
