IBOIS is giving conferences in USA and in Europe.

After the recent presentations in Michigan and Barcelona, Ibois’s researchers will be soon in Los Angeles and in London!

As part of his thesis entitled "Integral Mechanical Attachament for Structural Timber Panels", Christopher Robeller, architect and researcher at Ibois, recently presented his research in Michigan (USA). The conference, which was held on May 18th, 2014, took place as part of the event "Robotic Fabrication in Architecture, Art and Design 2014". The following paper has been published: "Design and Fabrication of Robot Manufactured Joints for a Curved-folded CLT Thin-Shell structure".

Sina Nabaei, engineer and researcher at Ibois, has, meanwhile, as part of his thesis also (topic : Mechanical form-finding of Timber Fabric Structures), presented his research on July 21st in Barcelona, as part of the "11th world conference in computational mechanics / 5th European conference in computational mechanics 20-25 July, Barcelona, Spain". The following paper has been published: " Form-finding of interlaced space structures".

It’s in London that IBOIS will move soon! On September 18th, at the Advances in Architectural Geometry 2014, Sina Nabaei will give a conference to present the following paper : “Form finding of twisted interlaced structures: a hybrid approach”. On September 19th, Christopher Robeller will present the following paper: "Interlocking Folded Plate - Integrated mechanical attachment for structural timber panels". On September 20th and 21st, as part of the same event, Sina Nabaei will participate, with Olivier Baverel, to the workshop: " Form-finding of twisted interlaced structures". Olivier Baverel is a researcher and professor at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Grenoble (France).

Finally, in October (23rd-25th), Christopher Robeller will be in Los Angeles (USA) to give a talk related to the following paper : "Snap-fit joints - Integrated mechanical attachment for structural timber panels".

Many opportunities for IBOIS to highlight his researches about timber structure, curved-folded CLT thin-shell structure, wood-wood joints and digital fabrication.
