How Sex and Gender Analysis lead to Discovery!

Londa Schiebinger, Professor of History of Science from Stanford University with speakers from the University of Geneva, University of Lausanne and Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne will speak about “Gendered Innovations”, which is receiving more and more attention by research funding bodies on international and national scales. This conference aims to show how by including gender and diversity perspectives, research and innovation in science, medicine and engineering can benefit. Employing case studies from various disciplines, Londa Schiebinger will show how by doing so, research can save more lives, eliminates bias, and lead to new discoveries.

Caroline Vandevyver, Head of the Research Office will be present at the meeting and will focus her talk on gender dimension in research proposals and the role of the EPFL’s Research Office (ReO).
