Enormous quantities of personal data that reveal our consumer profiles and opinions are posted on the Internet. The magazine "Bilan" investigates whether people can protect themselves from this and refers to the work of Karl Aberer, professor for Distributed Information Systems Laboratory (LSIR) at EPFL.

Professor Karl Aberer and his team from the Distributed Information Systems Laboratory at EPFL made a curious discovery in the applications of Drive, Google's cloud service. "About two-thirds of the 100 apps (built by third parties to operate this service) which we analyzed have over-privileged access," he explains.
