Latency: a biomarker discovery pipeline

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation recently announced that Jacques Fellay, together with Amalio Telenti and Angela Ciuffi from the Institute of Microbiology of the CHUV/UNIL, is a Grand Challenge Explorations winner. Grant Challenge Exploration funds scientists worldwide to explore ideas that can break the mold in how we solve persistent global health and development challenges. Jacques Fellay, Amalio Telenti and Angela Ciuffi's project, "Latency: a biomarker discovery pipeline", aims at identifying biomarkers specific of HIV latency using cellular models and RNA sequencing, and at developing a customized screening tool for validation in HIV+ individuals. If successful, unique biomarkers will be available to study HIV latency reservoirs and eradication.
