Semaine ENAC - du neuf construit avec vos déchets.

Construction materials are thrown away too easily. 30 ENAC students have decided to bring new value to some of them.

The "Constructive Second-Hand" ENAC week gathered 2nd-year students in Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Engineering for one week in the smart living lab. The challenge: collect waste materials in the Fribourg area, design a functional yet appealing table out of it, build the table, and demonstrate its new economic and environmental value.

The week alternates hands-on making with contextual thinking. On the one hand, students benefitted from the exceptional facilities of the Atelier popup (smart living lab), to cut, weld, drill, sand, and assemble metal, glass, and wood. On the other hand, a series of seminars on circular economy, life-cycle assessment, and soil pollution were offered throughout the week. The tables will be used by smart living lab employees in Fribourg and by the SXL research group in their Lausanne office. Come and check it out!
