Professor Elisa Oricchio, currently Tenure Track Assistant Professor, has been nominated as Associate Professor of Life Sciences.

The Board of the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology recently announced the appointment of professors at EPFL. Among the 17 new appointees, Professor Elisa Oricchio at the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) has been nominated as Associate Professor of Life Sciences. 

Elisa Oricchio’s research seeks to understand the role of genetic and epigenetic changes in carcinogenesis, and how these changes influence the patient’s response to cancer treatments. She has developed very sophisticated methods for use in genomics and chromatin structural analysis: these are of great interest to the entire school. Her work is not only of fundamental scientific significance, but also identifies potential new targets for the development of cancer treatments. This well-known researcher is a leading expert in her field as well as being a popular lecturer among students.
