Dr Emanuela de Falco is joining LNCO as postdoctoral researcher to investigate bodily perception and episodic memory using invasive intracranial recording in neurosurgical patients.

Emanuela completed her PhD at the University of Leicester (Leicester,UK) under the supervision of Prof. Rodrigo Quian Quiroga in 2017. During her graduate career she worked with electrophysiological recordings from patients suffering from epilepsy, investigating declarative memory and how associated concepts are encoded in the human medial temporal lobes.

Following her PhD, she spent two years as a postdoc in the lab of Prof. Christopher Lapish at IUPUI (Indianapolis, USA) where she worked on high-density electrophysiological recordings from in the medial prefrontal cortex of rodents and investigated neuronal dynamics underlying complex behaviours.

Emanuela has a background in physics (BSc and MSc from the University of Napoli, Italy) with a focus on modelling of complex systems.
