5th Annual International Conference on Architecture & Civil Engineering, Singapore

Corentin Fivet was awarded a Best Research Paper award earlier this week at the 5th Annual International Conference on Architecture & Civil Engineering in Singapore, for a paper he wrote together with Benjamin Jacot, Dimitrios Pagonakis, Mitchell Slope and John Ochsendorf from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The paper, entitled "An Optimized Bracing System for Distributed Lateral Loads", uses graphic statics as a form-finding tool to develop a new bracing system for high-rise towers. The developed bracing drastically reduces the total static action of conventional X-bracing.
