Haifeng Fan completed his PhD Thesis focusing on the development of a prestressed and permanent soil/rock anchor made of non-corrosive carbon fiber composite materials.
The PhD thesis entitled « Structural performance of permanent post-tensioned CFRP ground anchors with strap ends » was defended on July 3, 2017 in front of a jury composed of Thomas Keller and Anastasios Vassilopoulos (CCLab, thesis supervisors), Brahim Benmokrane (Université de Sherbrooke, external examiner), Zhishen Wu (Ibaraki University (Japan) and Southeast University (China), external examiner), Urs Meier (EMPA, internal examiner) and Ian Smith (IMAC, jury president).
Accepted without reservation, the thesis was then presented to the public on September 8, 2017.
