Purpose
The goal of the club is to maintain and enhance its members' interest, knowledge, creativity and confidence in their abilities regarding the ICT branches, through exchanges, coaching, online challenges and workshops.
The coding workshops will be held every two months with a different theme at each session. They will take place first on the EPFL campus and the idea is to extend them to other cantons.
A virtual platform is currently under construction to allow members to share their experiences, projects and knowledge. Members will also be put in contact with coaches and mentors, for example EPFL students or Alumnae.
The announcement of the creation of the Coding Club for girls was made on Saturday, January 20 during workshops to create a drawing app on smartphone organized for 50 girls aged 12 to 15 at EPFL. These girls had been on the waiting list since November 21, when a similar workshop was organized during the national digital day.
The girls' enthusiasm for these workshops and the length of our waiting lists motivated us to quickly organize another workshop and strengthened our idea of creating a Coding Club for girls.
