The CIS Collaboration grant was set up in order to support the launch of application areas of Intelligent Systems under the umbrella of CIS.

The grantees will be attached to two labs of EPFL thus promoting the exchange between labs and different faculties of EPFL. Further the CIS Collaboration grantees, supervised by professors affiliated with CIS, contribute to the preparation, submission and implementation of larger collaborative projects between EPFL and its partners through CIS.

The first CIS collaboration grant was approved by the CIS steering committee for the project entitled “Cardiac Digital Twins and Culprit Lesion Detection”. The laboratories of Prof. Abbé (SB/IC) and Prof. Frossard (STI) will be hosting the first CIS Collaboration grantee. The selected candidate will contribute to develop the CIS research pillar on “Intelligent Systems for medicine”, strengthen research activities in this general area and facilitate collaborations between CIS, medical experts and hospitals. Apply now.

The second CIS collaboration grant was approved by the CIS steering committee for the project entitled “Assistive Distributed Robotics”. The laboratories of Prof. Ijspeert (STI)and Prof. Paik (STI) will be hosting the second CIS Collaboration grantee. The selected candidate will contribute to develop the CIS research pillar on Intelligent distributed robotic systems at the intersection between smart homes, (neuro-) prosthetics, and rehabilitation robotics to assist persons with limited mobility in their daily living. This will be done through the strengthening of research activities in this general area and through facilitation of collaborations between CIS, medical experts and hospitals. Applications to open soon.
