Joshua Hawke received the best poster award at the 18th Symposium on Laser Aided Plasma Diagnostics.

The best poster prize of the 18th Symposium on Laser Aided Plasma Diagnostics, recently held in Prague, was awarded to Joshua Hawke for his poster on improving spatial and spectral resolution of the Thomson scattering on the TCV tokamak.

The poster presented improvements to the complete system, including the addition and rearrangement of optical fibers, the installation of new spectrometers, and the modifications to the electronics of the detectors.

Thomson scattering is the measurement principle for estimating temperature and density profiles in a plasma.

A more detailed description of these improvements can be found in this news.
