An anti-pollution mask to safeguard the health of million of citizen

Meeting with Théo Denisart, co-founder of Helvetik and student in Management, Technology and Entrepreneurship (MTE).

As an EPFL mechanical engineer with a developed entrepreneurial spirit, Théo Denisart felt that he lacked the knowledge and support to realize an idea that had been in his mind for a long time: the design of an high-quality anti-pollution mask. Passionate about China, he soon realized that people wanting to protect themselves from pollution had very few high quality means.
After a stay in the United States where he completed his Master's degree, he concretized his entrepreneurial vocation. He created a first start-up in the digital marketing before tackling the design of his quality anti-pollution (Swiss!) mask, in collaboration with Roberto Costa.


Commercialization by the end of 2020

Theo Denisart then chose to embark on a second Master that would allow him to complete the pieces of puzzle to realize his project in a constructive way. The Master MTE has enabled him to acquire the vocabulary and knowledge related to entrepreneurship, and in particular to financial accounting, corporate law or investment requests.

In parallel, he followed a Minor in Science, Technology and Area Studies organized by Marc Laperrouza who brought him to the China Hardware Innovation Camp (CHIC) in Shenzhen. "These courses have allowed me to develop new entrepreneurial, technical and business skills," he says.
This was followed by contacts with Y-grants at EPFL and participation in competitions to win funding. Helvetik won the START prize (30'000 CHF), organized by HEC Lausanne, which brings together 60 teams between HEC and EPFL. This amount has recently been completed by a 2nd prize, awarded by the Foundation for Technological Innovation (FIT) of 20'000 CHF. This money will allow the Helvetik team to work peacefully on the design of the product, in collaboration with design offices. They expect an (international) commercialization by the end of 2020.
