    SNSF Starting Grants awarded to 27 researchers

    today - Research Office We are pleased to announce that 4 researchers of EPFL were funded. 145 Researchers submitted their SNSF StG project proposals in March 2014. This transitional measure of the SNSF offered the Swiss research community an adequate substitute for ERC grants.

    GREEN DENSITY selected among the finalists of the 2014 Roberval Award

    today - Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies GREEN DENSITY is among the books selected as finalists in the “Higher education” category of the 2014 Roberval Award. Edited by the Presses polytechniques et universitaires romandes (PPUR), this publication presents six original visions developed for the Waldstadt sector (Bern) within Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST). Pursuing an interdisciplinary approach at various intervention scales - from urban design to constructive detail - they aim at experimenting, assessing and comparing various urban shapes in a perspective of urban sustainability.

    Defitech Foundation supports new EPFL Chair

    21.11.14 - Mediacom The Defitech Foundation has made a commitment that will enable the creation of a new laboratory. The “Research Chair in Clinical Neuroengineering and Human-Machine Interactions” will be established in Sion, as part of EPFL Valais Wallis and the Campus Energypolis, within the auspices of the Clinique Romande de réadaptation (rehabilitation) (SuvaCare). This Chair, like the first Defitech Chair established in 2008, will be affiliated with EPFL’s Center for Neuroprosthetics.
