After the recent news that the Apple Watch is on the verge of entering the wearables market, it begs the question: are these products really of any use?

Connected electronics are increasingly present in day-to-day life and this trend does not seem to be slowing with the arrival of wearable devices. From watches to the more traditional pedometer, their forms are infinite. Their functions nevertheless remain similarly centred around step counting or heartrate monitoring. What use do we really have for the data collected? Can they really us to improve our health and everyday life? Are we at risk of becoming dependent on these technologies? Our guests Olivier Simon, addictologist at the CHUV, and Kamiar Aminian, EPFL researcher in the field of movement analysis and measurement, will attempt to answer these questions.

Come join the live discussion at Satellite on March 31, from 5:15 to 6:00 pm!
