Selection for the next Holcim Forum in Mumbai
PhD student at the Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST), Loïc Fumeaux is part of the international selection of 24 doctoral students invited to participate to the International Holcim Forum for Sustainable Construction as representative of the "Next generation", which will take place in Mumbai in April 2013. On this occasion, he will present his research on the integration of sustainability criteria into the design process of temporary event infrastructures.
The next Holcim Forum will be held on April 11-13, 2013 and hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, India. Initiated by the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction, this symposium provides a platform for scholars and practitioners from the fields of architecture, urbanism, engineering, and other related disciplines to debate the future of the built environment.
On that occasion, an international selection of PhD students has been organized in the multiple partner universities of the Holcim : the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH and EPFL), Switzerland, the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico, the Ecole Supérieure d’Architecture de Casablanca, Morocco, the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, the University of São Paulo, Brazil, the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and the Tongji University, China.
Each of the selected students is invited to participate to the symposium and requested to submit a poster of its research project, which demonstrates contemporary and innovative solutions to sustainable construction needs. The posters will be displayed in an exhibition gallery for the duration of the important event. Informal discussions about the multiple research projects will be encouraged during breaks and there will be prizes for the three best posters.
