New position at the OECD for a former PhD student, Stefano Baruffaldi

Dr. Stefano Baruffaldi

Stefano H. Baruffaldi has been hired by the Organization for Economic, Cooperation and development (OECD) in the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) in Paris and has won a Swiss National Foundation scholarship for a subsequent Post-Doc period at the Max Planck Institute in Munich under the supervision of Prof. Dietmar Harhoff.

Stefano Baruffaldi joined Prof. Dominique Foray's team in 2010 as a PhD student, and defended his dissertation entitled "Three essays on the role of proximity in science and innovation" in January 2015. His research focuses on the agglomeration economics and the mobility of human capital.

Stefano obtained both his Bachelor and Master's degree in Management and Production Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano University. During the third year of his Bachelor he spent nine month at the Coimbra University, Portugal. During this period he took part in a project on the qualified immigration in Portugal developed by the Centro de Estudos Sociais (CES), financed by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). Afterwards his Bachelor and Master’s thesis focused on the phenomenon of the international mobility of researchers.

Stefano will be joining the OECD in July 2015 in Paris.
