The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action "Global Fellowships" allows postdoctoral researchers to do research at the EPFL for a max. duration of two years. However, certain eligibility criteria need to be fulfilled.

Due to the Third Country status in Horizon 2020, Swiss institutions can't host postdoctoral researchers with a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) "European Fellowships" anymore. However, the MSCA "Global Fellowships" offers an alternative for those postdoctoral researchers who wish to carry out their research in Switzerland. The call H2020-MSCA-IF-2014-GF is open and the submission deadline is September 11th 2014.

"Global Fellowships" are open to researchers who want to move to a Third Country (TC, outgoing phase) and then come back to an EU Member State or Associated Country (MS or AC, return phase). The fellow is employed by the MS or AC host institution during the entire duration of the fellowship and is seconded to the TC institution for one to two years. There is a mandatory one-year return phase to the MS or AC institution. The Third Country institution receives an allowance for the research costs of the fellow.

Eligibility conditions
- The applicant must be a national or long-term resident of an EU Member State or Associated Country. Long-term residents are researchers who spent a period of full-time research activity of at least 5 consecutive years in one or more EU Member States or Associated Countries.

- The applicant must not have resided or carried out the main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the Third Country where the initial outgoing phase takes place for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals.

If you’re interested in hosting a Global Fellow during his/her outgoing phase at your laboratory, a commitment letter will have to be provided by EPFL before the submission deadline of September 11th 2014. Please contact the Research Office for all further assistance in the preparation of a "Global Fellowship" application.
