Professor Dr. Marc Gruber and his team hosted a one-day workshop at Odyssea to discuss public programs designed to alleviate local unemployment by helping unemployed people transition to successful entrepreneurship.

The week of October 10, 2014, Professor Dr. Marc Gruber and his team, with the support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), hosted a one-day workshop at Odyssea at EPFL’s campus to discuss public programs designed to alleviate local unemployment by helping unemployed people transition to successful entrepreneurship. Representatives hailed from the governments of Greece, Belgium and Switzerland (with representatives from the Vallais, the Canton of Vaud and Genève). ENTC researchers presented prior and ongoing research based on data from these programs, highlighting the role founder experience and sector characteristics play in determining venture outcomes. Participants shared insights and best practices from their programs and laid the foundation for future collaboration.
