Keynote at the 2016 International Science and Application of Thin Films Conference SATF 2016, which took place from 19 to 23 September 2016 in the Turkish city of Cesme, Andreas Schueler gave a talk on Nano-Composite Optical Coatings for Solar Energy Applications. The Solar Energy and Building Physics Lab delegation also presented two posters, one of which received the 2nd Poster Prize.

Thin films have an exciting array of applications, notably in the context of solar energy conversion. One of the leading specialists in the field, the LESO-PB research group leader Dr Andreas Schueler, is regularly called upon to give keynote talks on his research, which covers a wide spectrum of applications. At SATF 2016 he presented the manifold options of nano-composite optical coatings to a specialised international audience.

Two posters were presented by his group:

  1. "In situ photoelectron spectroscopy of WO3/LiPON interface for electrochromic devices" (awarded the 2nd Poster Prize)
by Olivia Bouvard, Anna Krammer, Andreas Schueler
  2. "Effect of Si doping on the transition temperature and electronic properties of VO2 thin films"
by Anna Krammer, Olivia Bouvard, Andreas Schueler
