Jan S. Hesthaven named SIAM Fellow

Professor Jan S. Hesthaven, head of the Chair of Computational Mathematics and Simulation Science (MCSS) and Director of the Scientific IT and Application Support (SCITAS), has been named in the 2014 Class of SCIAM Fellows.

Professor Hesthaven has been chosen as one of the 32 members of the 2014 Class of Fellows "For advances in high-order numerical methods for partial differential equations and applications".

The SIAM Fellows Program honors SIAM members who have made outstanding contributions to applied and computational mathematics.

The "Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics" (SIAM) is a big community of more than 14000 applied mathematicians, engineers and computer scientists. SIAM has been founded in 1952 to foster strong interactions between mathematics and other scientific and technological communities through membership activities, publication of journals and books, conferences and prizes.
