IDEAS Lecture | 30th October 2013

Ulrick LIMAN will be the speaker of the next IDEAS lecture, entitled "Quartier à 2'000 Watts | Plaines-du-Loup". It will take place on Wednesday 30th October 2013 at 2:15 pm in room AAC120 (Building SG).

The axis Integrated Design, Architecture and Sustainability (IDEAS) is a joint initiative of both the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Performance-Integrated Design (LIPID) and Laboratory of Architecture and Sustainable Technologies (LAST) of the ENAC School at EPFL. It aims to address an increased integration of the various issues related to sustainable architecture within the framework of the Doctoral program Architecture & Science of the city (EDAR).

Ulrick Liman will present the Plaines-du-Loup project. Aiming at reaching the 2000 Watts society objectives, this sustainable neighborhood will host 10'000 inhabitants and jobs.

Energy engineer, Ulrick Liman is responsible of the section "durabilité et économie de la construction" at Ville de Lausanne. He leads a team of engineers which ensures the sustainability of construction / renovation projects managed by the City of Lausanne, in particular within the frame of projects « 3'000 logements » or « Métamorphose ». In order to support this approach, he co-developed the SméO platform, a sustainability management tool both at building and neighborhood scale. He is now member of the direction of the Métamorphoses project and co-responsible of the Plaines-du-Loup neighborhood.
