Fabrice Tra started his first 3-month stay at SOIL. His supervisor from his home university, Prof. Bomisso, joined him for his first week in Sion.

Fabrice is doing his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Bomisso and Meret with the support of a 100 PhDs for Africa fellowship. Fabrice's home university is the Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Côte d’Ivoire. The goal of Fabrice's work is to develop an integrated soil fertility management strategy based on mycorrhizal symbiosis and the efficient use of compost in order to optimize African eggplant production. His work at SOIL over the next three months will focus on the physicochemical and microbial characterization of soils that he has collected across the transition zone between forest and savanna in Côte d'Ivoire. Welcome, Fabrice!

Fabrice's supervisor, Prof. Bomisso, joined him for his first week in Sion. We had fruitful discussions (and improved our French) and are looking forward to our collaboration!
