Appointment of Hamed Hassani as Assistant Professor at UPenn
Hamed Hassani, a former PhD Student of Rudiger Urbanke and Nicolas Macris has been appointed as assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
His thesis entitled Polarization and Spatial Coupling: Two Techniques to Boost Performance, passed in September 2013 was awarded by the 2014 Thomas M. cover Dissertation Award.
Currently, Hamed is a post-doc at ETH Zurich in the Learning & Adaptive Systems group directed by Prof. Andreas Krause. His current research interests are: information theory and coding, graphical models: theory and algorithms and machine learning.
