A new Post-Doc joins the Ceat

Mariano Bonriposi joined the CEAT the first of July of the current year as postdoctoral research associate.

Geographer, PhD in Geosciences and Environment, Mariano Bonriposi joined the CEAT the first of July of the current year as postdoctoral research associate.

After a Bachelor in Geography at the University of Lausanne in 2007, he obtains the Master in Atmosphere and Climate science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich in 2009. He returns at the University of Lausanne in 2010 where, in 2013 he defends his doctoral thesis "Analyse systémique et prospective des usages de l’eau dans la région de Crans-Montana-Sierre", produced in the framework of the NRP 61 MontanAqua project. Shortly after obtaining his degree he begins a six months internship at the "Service des Construction et de l’Aménagement de l’Etat de Fribourg", where he is responsible for digitizing and updating the "Plan sectoriel des zones d’activités d’importance cantonale". At the same time, he develops new informatics tools for urban planning. He therefore has proven experience in both applied research and urban planning cantonal practices.

Mariano Bonriposi currently deals with spatial analysis, statistics, and more generally, the understanding of territorial and urban dynamics. He is also GIS manager and responsible for the unity Desktop support.
