A director is appointed for the future Swiss Tech Convention Center

15.03.13 - As from 15 March 2013, Béat Kunz takes up the position of Director of the Swiss Tech Convention Center, which is scheduled to open in 2014 on the EPFL site at Ecublens.

Béat Kunz has considerable experience in the events field (fairs, exhibitions and conventions). Among other achievements, he managed the Beaulieu convention and exhibition center from 2010 to 2012, a structure with 80 employees, resulting in a turnover of 27 million Swiss francs in 2011. During the same period, he was part of the management board of the MCH group (630 employees) where he was involved in the development of the strategic direction of the activity segments concerned with exhibitions and infrastructure. He also took part in the management of the four subsidiaries of the MCH group. Béat Kunz was also CEO of the Operating Company of Forum Fribourg.

The Swiss Tech Convention Center (www.tstcc.ch) located on the EPFL site at Ecublens is scheduled to open in April 2014. The Center will benefit from a convention infrastructure among the most modern in the world, and will also be equipped with the most sophisticated and innovative technology. Architecturally, the Swiss Tech Convention Center will be a versatile and flexible facility, benefiting from leading-edge conference technology. The center will be able to house, as a priority, scientific and academic events (conventions, seminars or conferences) with up to 3000 participants. It will also feature a versatile space of some 6000 square meters, enabling the organization of parallel sessions or exhibitions. The Swiss Tech Convention Center is part of the development of the north end of the Campus, which will also include accommodation for students and academic hosts, a hotellery structure, and a shopping arcade.
