The Seed Money Program of the Cooperation and Development Center (CODEV) was established in 2005 aiming at encouraging scientific cooperation with partners in the global South through grants awarded in a competitive annual call.

With nine calls launched so far (2006-2014), the program has funded 73 projects from EPFL researchers with partners in more than 30 different countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe with a total of 721’412 CHF granted so far. The projects have promoted technology applications responding to the needs of local communities in Southern countries.
